Who can use Compano
Compano is restricted to adults who are at least 18 years old and legally permitted to view adult-oriented content where they reside. Use of the site by anyone under 18 is strictly prohibited; doing so is a breach of the Terms of Service.
Why we age-gate
Compano hosts profiles, reviews, and discussions intended for an adult audience. The age gate gives Compano a contemporaneous record that each visitor confirmed they are 18 or older before accessing that material - required by South African content regulation and by the platform’s own community standards.
How the age gate works
On first visit you are presented with a confirmation dialog. Tapping “I am 18 or older” sets a strictly-necessary cookie (age_ok) which lasts 30 days. Anyone who refuses is redirected to a generic search engine. The cookie stores no personal information; clearing it returns you to the gate.
If a minor accesses the site
If you believe a minor has bypassed the gate or registered an account, contact safety@compano.co.za immediately. We close affected accounts on first signal and purge associated personal data in line with our privacy notice.
