Terms of Service
Introduction
The operator of this website (referred to in this document as “Compano”, “the Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) makes the content of this site available to visitors (“you” or “your”) subject to the terms and conditions set out below, together with any additional terms, policies, or notices applicable to a specific area of the site (for example the disclaimer, privacy policy, and safety guidance).

References to “Compano”, “the Service”, “the platform”, “us”, “our”, or “we” mean the legal entity that operates the website located at compano.co.za together with its directors, employees, agents, and service providers.
General terms and conditions
- Acceptance. Continuing to browse the site is treated as acceptance of these terms. When you register for an account you must tick the checkbox confirming you have read and agree to these terms and the related policies.
- Age and location. You must be at least 18 years old and accessing the site from within South Africa to use Compano. The site is not directed at any audience outside South Africa.
- Personal use. Your account is for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not on-sell, redistribute, or harvest the directory for any other commercial purpose.
- Payments. All payments processed through Compano are final once captured. Successful payment does not by itself constitute acceptance of an order or upgrade - Compano may decline or reverse an order in its sole discretion.
- Discretion. Compano may refuse a registration, decline an order, suspend a feature, or remove content at any time without giving reasons.
- Third-party links. The site may link to third-party websites. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
Description of services
Compano is an advertising platform for independent adult advertisers in South Africa. Compano does not contract for, sell, or take payment from the public on behalf of any advertiser - the platform exists only to publish profiles, host community discussion, and connect members with advertisers through private messaging and reviews.
Creating an account is free of charge. Optional paid tiers (currently surfaced as VIP membership for members and advertiser-access subscriptions for individuals and venues) unlock additional features such as advanced search, higher-resolution galleries, saved searches with alerts, message templates, and venue / agency tooling. Compano may add, remove, or restructure paid features over time as the platform evolves; current inclusions are listed on the relevant upgrade pages.
Delivery policy
Paid features activate immediately when paid through the automated payment gateway. Manual electronic-funds transfers (EFT) activate within one working day of the funds reflecting on the Compano bank account, subject to admin reconciliation. If a payment is delayed or appears stuck, email support@compano.co.za and we will investigate within one working day.
Refunds policy
Compano sells digital subscriptions and advertising services. Once a paid feature is activated it is not refundable. It is your responsibility to confirm the amount and reference of any manual payment before sending funds; Compano will not refund overpayments but will credit the surplus to your account for use against future Compano subscriptions, tips, or services.
Refunds are not available where a problem is caused by an out-of-date browser, an incompatible device, or third-party software on your end. Keep your operating system and browser patched and modern; the supported browser list lives on /safety.
Provision of the service
You acknowledge that the form, scope, and features of the Service may change from time to time without prior notice. Compano may decline to provide the Service to you, suspend the Service in whole or in part, or discontinue features at its sole discretion, and is not liable for doing so.
Privacy policy
Compano takes reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information. Processing is governed by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and described in the Privacy Policy. To lodge an access, correction, deletion, or portability request use the data-rights form.
Payment options accepted
Payments are accepted through the integrated payment gateway (PayFast) for card and instant-EFT, and directly into the Compano bank account by manual EFT for members who prefer to pay offline. Specific account details are surfaced on the relevant checkout / top-up screens once you are signed in.
Regional restriction
The Compano directory is intended only for adults residing in South Africa. Companions, venues, and members located outside South Africa may not register or be advertised on the platform.
Access to the Compano website
You agree not to interfere with the operation of the site, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, not to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or anti-abuse measures, and not to scrape the site in volume without our written consent.
We take reasonable steps to keep the site free of viruses and malicious code, but cannot guarantee a defect-free experience. Keep your own device adequately protected. Compano may suspend, withdraw, or modify any part of the site without notice; you waive any claim against Compano for an inability to access the site, downtime, maintenance, or discontinued features.
Public forums and user submissions
Material posted to the public surfaces of the site (forum threads, reviews, profile fields, hosted galleries, comments, and any other user-submitted content) is the responsibility of the member who posted it. Compano does not endorse, review, or warrant user submissions. Compano may remove any submission at its sole discretion - with or without notice - if it concludes that the submission may, among other things:
- defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten, or otherwise infringe the rights of any user or third party;
- publish, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, obscene, indecent, or otherwise unlawful material;
- upload viruses, malware, corrupted files, or any software intended to damage Compano’s or a third party’s systems;
- violate copyright, trade mark, or other intellectual-property rights under South African or international law;
- contain marketing or promotional material whose primary intent is to solicit business outside the platform’s permitted advertising flow.
Restriction on multiple accounts
To keep reviews, reputation scores, and abuse signals honest, each person is entitled to one free Compano account. Creating additional accounts to inflate reviews, evade a ban, harass another member, or duplicate a profile is a breach of these terms. Compano may close all accounts (including the original) associated with any person found to be operating multiple accounts.
Specific use
You agree not to use Compano - and in particular the private messaging system - to send or post any message or material that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, indecent, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, racially or religiously offensive, or otherwise in breach of applicable law. You indemnify Compano against any loss, liability, damage, or expense suffered by Compano or any third party arising directly or indirectly from your use of the platform to send such material.
Warranties
Compano makes no warranties, representations, statements, or guarantees (whether express, implied in law, or residual) regarding the site, the accuracy of any content on it, the information you supply, or the material transmitted across our systems.
Disclaimer of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and your use of the Service is at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Compano nor its directors, employees, agents, service providers, or suppliers is liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damage or loss arising from your use of the site, any feature on it, or any subscription or product sold through it. Compano’s aggregate liability to any member is limited to the fees that member paid to Compano in the twelve months immediately preceding the relevant claim.
Amendments to this agreement
Compano may amend these terms at any time. Material changes will be flagged in-app and the “last updated” stamp at the top of this page revised. Continued use of the Service after an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended terms; if you do not accept an amendment you must stop using Compano.
Domicilium
Compano elects as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes related to this site and these terms an address in Sandton, Johannesburg, in the Republic of South Africa. The street address may be requested in writing from legal@compano.co.za. These terms are governed by South African law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg.
