POPIA / data rights
The Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) gives you a set of enforceable rights over the personal information Compano holds about you. This page summarises those rights and the self-service tools we’ve built to honour them.
What you can do today
- Access & export. Download every record we hold about you as a portable JSON archive.
- Correct. Edit your account email, profile fields, and verification documents in the dashboard.
- Delete. Close your account from the dashboard; deletion completes within 30 days, except where law requires retention (tax records, audit logs of safety incidents).
- Object & withdraw consent. Disable marketing emails, two-factor SMS, or any optional processing from your profile preferences.
- Anything else? Submit a formal request via the POPIA request form. We respond within the 14-day SLA mandated by POPIA.
